MAILBOX: Letter to Mary Ann Ll. Reyes

The Philippine Star

It is with sadness that we learned your good self was misled by the camp of Joaquin Rodriguez S. Joaquin Rodriguez Jr., Joaquin Rodriguez Jr. and Melesa Chua.

In your article published in the Philippine STAR on Aug. 7, 2013, we wish to correct that Joaquin Rodriguez Jr. is simply representing Optimax International Corp., which he is just a minority in the board of Beccomax Property and Development Corp., one of the unit owners in Infinity Tower Condominium. Optimax is only a minority in the five man board of Beccomax, since Byucksan Engineering has the three seats in the board. Rodriguez is harping so much when Optimax is a minority and merely owns shares in Beccomax, a company that is only one of the unit owners in Infinity Tower.

The 20-day temporary restraining order issued by a Makati Court was in behalf of the condominium unit owners whose properties were destroyed and robbed under the watch of Joaquin Rodriguez Jr. The 17 guards themselves of Greenshield Security who were hired by Rodriguez, stated in their affidavits that he was the primary culprit in the theft and robbery and destruction of the units, why the residents and owners of the units who were barred from even seeing their properties for more than half a year finally sought the intervention of the court and were granted reprieve. According to the court, the property manager’s rights cannot be higher than the owners of the property. The court decided in favor of the owners of the 83 condominium units in Infinity Tower and that was that and those are the majority owners, the other owner being Ascott. The building has a total of 150 units in all.

On July 27 this year, with the assistance of the court sheriff (contrary to Rodriguez’s claim that there was no sheriff present), the owners entered the Infinity Tower to implement the 20-day TRO. It is unfortunate that Rodriguez is playing saint when 17 of his own guard swore in their affidavits that he was the one who led to the ransacking of the properties. Rodriguez is facing more than a hundred criminal cases for his abuses in Infinity Tower and apparently is also wanted in several other cases. It is the front page banner story today in another newspaper, People’s Tonight.

The owners of the 83 condominium units now given access to their condominium units by the court are: Beccomax, Ascott Hospitality Holdings Inc., Archinet and Seokwhan Hahn, Marvin Elton T. Mendoza, Martin Earl T. Mendoza, Elizabeth T. Mendoza, Manuel S. Mendoza and Marion Emmanuel T. Mendoza.

We hope this clarification will be given space in your respected column. Than you very much and more power.

Very truly yours,
