MANILA, Philippines - Cement Manufacturers Association (CeMAP) president Ernesto M. Ordoñez leads the signing of the 5-Point Code of Accountability on Road Safety at the recent Second Vehicle and Traffic Safety Conference held at SMX Convention Center in Manila last July 15. The code prescribes defensive driving, hiring of skilled and responsible drivers, maintenance of good health among others, ensuring road-worthiness of vehicles, and encouragement of error and misses reporting among all stakeholders. Close to 300 cement haulers, drvers, cement firm executives, road safety advocates and traffic safety experts signed this code. At his keynote speech, Department of Transportation and Communications Assistant Secretary Dante Lantin announced that his code could be posted in the DOTC website.
