MANILA, Philippines - Ford Philippines posted its best monthly sales in July amid strong demand for its vehicle lineup.
In a statement yesterday, Ford said its sales jumped 71 percent to 1,273 units in July compared to the 745 units sold in the same month last year.
“Our ongoing sales momentum is being driven by strong appeal for our segment-leading One Ford vehicles from customers across the country –customers who appreciate the smart technologies, fuel efficiency, safety and quality of our vehicles,†Ford Philippines managing director Kay Hart said.
The company said the exceptional July performance was led by significant sales gains across Ford’s entire vehicle lineup.
The all-new Ranger, it said, continues to be Ford’s best-selling nameplate in the Philippines as it delivered its second best-ever monthly performance with retail sales of 448 units in July.
Positive response to the upgraded Ford Explorer lineup in the Philippines, including the 2.0 liter Explorer Limited with EcoBoost and 3.5 liter Explorer Limited Plus, helped deliver its best-ever monthly performance in July with retail sales of 131 units.
Ford’s sports utility vehicle also continued to support the company’s sales momentum as its Everest Family had its best monthly performance of the year in July with retail sales of 294 units.
The Ford Focus which also had its best monthly sales performance, had retail sales of 124 units in July.
Other vehicles which supported the July performance were the iconic Ford Mustang sports car with sales of 25 units and the Ford Fiesta with 158 units.
“The Fiesta has been one of our best-selling vehicles and key to our product-led transformation in the Philippines. We expect the launch of the new Fiesta will help further drive its popularity and connect with even more new-to-Ford customers and their lifestyles,†Hart said.
The company is set to begin deliveries of the new Ford Fiesta five-door hatchback and four-door sedan featuring the global 1.5 liter Ti-VCT engine later this month.
For the January to July period, Ford Philippines’ retail sales posted an 84 percent growth to reach 7,534 units from the 4,089 units sold in the comparable period a year ago.
As Ford’s sales continue to grow across the vehicle lineup, the company is committed to further enhance its customer experience through a wider network coverage.
The company plans to open three more full sales and service outlets by the end of the year, including dealerships in Baguio, General Santos and Zamboanga, to bring its total nationwide network to 35 locations.
“Customers are appreciating the unmatched value that our Ford vehicles deliver – from the smart technology, to our focus on fuel efficiency, quality and safety – which is supported by our ongoing commitment to provide the very best customer experience,†Hart said.
