Plantersbank opens new branches

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Plantersbank, the lead bank for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country, has opened four new branches to expand its network in key growth areas across the Philippines.

Apart from a new branch in Banawe, Quezon City, Plantersbank is now servicing clients in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Santiago, Isabela; and Naga City, Camarines Sur. Plantersbank branches now total 79 nationwide.

“We are opening these branches to expand our reach to more SMEs in the country especially in areas where entrepreneurs are thriving and yet underserved,” says Plantersbank chairman and CEO Ambassador Jesus P. Tambunting.

With rosy prospects of the Philippine economy today, increased business activity is seen in industries prevalent in these regional areas, such as agriculture, trade, tourism, and export.

“We are giving more and more Filipinos the financial products and services they need to grow their business. It’s part of our commitment to help improve their lives, grow their communities and contribute to overall national progress,” adds Ambassador Tambunting.

Aside from traditional banking products, Plantersbank carries out capacity-building programs through its SME Speaker Series and SME Academy. The SME Speaker Series is a motivational seminar for entrepreneurs that brings key business and inspirational resource speakers around the country, while the SME Academy is a continuous learning program on more practical skills such as marketing, accounting and finance, taxation, human relations, and others.
