SEIPI confab opens June 5

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (SEIPI) is hosting from June 5 to 7 the 10th Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Convention and Exhibition (PSECE).

The conference will be held at the SMX convention center.

SEIPI is the largest organization of foreign and Filipino electronics companies in the Philippines.

The local electronic industry is expected to grow five to six percent this year against a flat growth in 2012.

The growth for this year is expected to be supported by the start of operations of new plants involved in the production of electronic products and parts in the country.

In 2012, the industry was challenged by slow global trade and consumer demand and high production cost due largely to high electricity cost.
