Megaworld taps int’l design firm for Makati projs

MANILA, Philippines - Megaworld, the country’s leading real estate developer, has tapped international design firm Gettys for condominium projects in the Makati Central Business District.

Gettys is responsible for the look and feel of the lobby at One Central, Megaworld’s most luxurious project in the Makati CBD. Surrounded by lush greenery, the glass-clad tower features state-of-the-art amenities like the first mini-theater in a residential tower, a wine and bar area, game room, pool lounge, indoor and outdoor spa, a palm court, a gym, children’s play area, to name a few.

“For One Central, our inspiration for the design came from the cosmopolitan culture and the thriving business aspect of Manila. Movement and reflection are captured in the form of urbane finishes and classic pieces, resulting in the utterly sophisticated outcome of the residence,” says William Nixon, development director at Gettys.

Already 25 years in the business, award-winning Gettys has worked with the world’s foremost developers, owners and hospitality brands like the Peninsula in Hong Kong, Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, The Ritz-Carlton in Miami, Florida; Four Seasons in Chicago, Westin Golf & Spa Resort in Abu Dhabi, Hard Rock in Macau and Sheraton D-Cube City in Seoul, Korea to name a few.

Gettys has previously partnered with Megaworld’s sister company Travellers International for the design of the casino, retail, food and beverage outlet as well as the villas at Maxims Hotel at Resorts World Manila. The company worked on the Marriott Manila extension and Marriott grand ballroom as well.

Megaworld aims to have more collaborations with Gettys for its future projects. Aside from Gettys, the property giant has been working with other world-renowned firms like HansGrohe and Kohler for the toilet and bathroom fittings of its other luxury towers like Three Central.

Another Megaworld prime property located right at the heart of the Makati CBD, Three Central highlights the first upscale ‘community mall’ within Salcedo Village as well as the first ‘culinary station’ in a condominium setting.
