MANILA, Philippines – Seeking to fulfill its goal of building a "Smarter Philippines" with smarter business, leadership and computing, IBM announced it will launch its new solutions for systems and software on May 16.

Dubbed "IBM Technology Conference & Expo 2013", IBM is focused on advancing big data and cloud computing in the Philippine market. The event will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.

IBM said among the technologies it will unveil are: the entry level IBM Power Systems for small and medium business (SMB) and growth markets; Storage Systems used to manage data in the cloud; and PureSystems for cloud deployment and applications while analyzing massive amounts of data.

Ireen Catane, Country Executive for Systems and Technology Group of IBM Philippines, shared that based on the recently released Q1 2013 worldwide results, the company's integrated system IBM PureSystems, continues to see traction, completing its first 12 months of operations.

IBM have sold over 4,000 systems in more than 90 countries.

“We anticipate the same trend in the local market as organizations are realizing the urgent need to invest in innovation and smarter systems to drive productivity and transformation across the entire business,” Catane said.

The IBM Technology Conference & Expo is an annual event that connects customers, business partners, independent software vendors (ISVs) and technology experts in order to network, share insights and simplify the end user decision for necessary IT expansion or upgrade.
