Globe launches mySUPERPLAN

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. is set to launch a new postpaid plan that would give subscribers the choice to choose their contract lock-up periods.

Martha Sazon, head of Globe Postpaid, said in a statement that the company would launch the new best-ever mySUPERPLAN to redefine and revolutionize the mobile postpaid industry once again.

Sazon said the country’s next-generation postpaid plan would give subscribers almost double of what they pay for.

Customers would have the flexibility to choose their contract lock-up periods, giving them more options to personalize and customize their postpaid plans, she said.

Globe mySUPERPLAN is the first-ever postpaid plan in the world that allows subscribers to create their plan, pick and mix their choice of freebies such as calls, texts, and surfing services, and even change their plan or freebies according to their needs, Sazon also said.

Through Globe mySUPERPLAN, Globe Postpaid has set a new record with double-digit growth in both revenue and market share in 2012.

Postpaid revenues jumped 24 percent to P22.8 billion last year from P18.5 billion in 2011 translating to a 56.2 percent postpaid revenue share in the country’s mobile postpaid business.

In the area of postpaid customer base, Sazon said mySUPERPLAN also steered the company’s postpaid leadership closing the year with 1.7 million subscribers last year or 19 percent higher than the previous year’s 1.5 million in 2011.

In addition to empowering subscribers to create their own plans, mySUPERPLAN also offers the latest gadgets on the back of the company’s partnerships with leading device manufacturers.

In the first quarter of 2013, Globe scored exclusive deals with two of the world’s biggest smartphone brands Samsung and Blackberry, exclusively offering the Samsung Galaxy SIII mini and the Blackberry Z10 LTE.

In May, Globe Postpaid will add the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 in its portfolio of smartphone devices offered under its postpaid plans.

Globe mySUPERPLAN was recently hailed by the 16th Telecom Asia Awards as the Most Innovative Telecom Project in Asia, besting Japan (NTT DoCoMo’s translation service), Singapore (SingTel Innov8), Korea (KakaoTalk), and Indonesia (Telkomsel’s Digital Lifestyle Strategy).

“With this recognition, we can proudly say that each and every one of the millions of Globe mySUPERPLAN customers in the Philippines are users of the most innovative telecom product in Asia,” Sazon said.
