Holiday rental provider seals online partnership deal

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Property owners in the Philippines providing accommodations to tourists are seen to benefit and connect with more travelers from around the world following the partnership of online marketplace for holiday rental accommodations in Asia Pacific, Travelmob with US-based site for vacation rental homes HomeAway Inc.

In a statement, Travelmob said it has partnered with HomeAway to integrate its offerings across Asia Pacific on all the HomeAway global sites.

Through the partnership, travelers visiting the HomeAway websites would have access to Travelmob’s listings of accommodations in Asia Pacific.

“For Travelmob, this partnership significantly expands its global reach, presenting the opportunity for property owners on Travelmob, including those in the Philippines, to market to travelers from around the world,” it said.

Travelmob, which was launched last year, provides a secure platform in Asia Pacific to list accommodations and host global travelers seeking to experience true local hospitality and culture.

Listings of accommodations in the Philippines on the Travelmob site are currently in the hundreds.

HomeAway is the world’s leading online marketplace of accommodations, with sites representing over 711,000 paid listings of vacation rental homes in 171 countries.

HomeAway chief executive officer Brian Sharples said the firm looks forward to offering Travelmob’s unique properties on their site given growing demand for accommodations of tourists bound for Asia.

“This partnership enables HomeAway to create additional accommodation options in one of the world’s most dynamic regions, to the families and groups who rely on HomeAway for holiday rental travel,” he said.

Asia Pacific is considered to be one of the fastest growing regions for tourism.

According to the International Air Transport Association, 37 percent of all global air passengers would travel on routes to, from or within Asia Pacific by 2015, compared with 29 percent for Europe and North America.
