Six SM supermalls win awards
MANILA, Philippines - Energy Efficiency Awards are yearly accolades handed over by the Department of Energy (DOE) to industrial and commercial companies that accumulate a certain amount of energy based on the standard use given by DOE.
The SM Supermalls received a total of six energy efficient awards for best practices that resulted in over millions worth of savings. SM City North EDSA and SM City Dasmariñas were recipients of Outstanding Awards, while SM City Batangas received a Special Award, and SM City Molino received a citation, SM EDD executives Ryan A. Argante and Claude V, Cantada were likewise cited as Outstanding Energy Managers.
Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho L. Petilla assisted by undersecretary Loreta G. Ayson and members of the steering committee and chair of TEC presented the awards to SM Supermalls executives and managers led by SM senior vice president for engineering and security affairs Antolin V. Paule and SM senior vice president for ADD operations south Teodoro Bautista.
The Department of Energy’s Don Emilio ABello Awards were held in partnership of Petron, Chevron, Shell, Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC), Meralco, National Power Corp. 1936, Philippine Energy Conservation Center Inc., Energy Efficiency Practitioners Association of the Philippines (ENPAP), Energy Development and Utilization Foundation Inc.
