MANILA, Philippines - Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is expanding its presence in the Visayas with a new dealership in Leyte.
According to HCPI the new dealership is targeted to start its operations in the second-half of this year.
The Tacloban dealership is HCPI’s fifth in the Visayas.
“(The) dealership... will offer the full lineup of Honda products and services to customers in the Eastern Visayas region,†HCPI said.
The new dealership will be located along Diversion Road, Maharlika Highway with a land area of approximately 2,500 square meters.
It will house the vehicles showroom and service facilities for preventive maintenance, general repairs, and body and paint repair services.
Apart from the new dealership to be opened in Tacloban, the firm is keen on expanding in other parts of the country.
“HCPI has plans of expansion, however, we are still checking the viability of prospect areas,†HCPI said.
At present, HCPI has 28 dealerships.
HCPI is selling the following vehicle models: City, Jazz, Civic, Accord, CR-V, Odyssey and Pilot.
The latest report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. showed HCPI accounted for the third largest share in the group’s total sales in January, having sold 1,372 units, much higher than the 82 units sold in the same month last year.
In 2012, HCPI’s full-year sales reached 12,653 units.
