MANILA, Philippines - Over 300 participants are expected to attend the 2013 Philippine ESRI GIS user conference at the EDSA Shangrila Manila’s Isla Ballroom, which happens on Jan. 22-23. ESRI brings together Arc GIS software users, orchestrated by Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc., the authorized distributor of Arc GIS software in the Philippines. Conference theme is: “GIS (Geographic Information System): Enhancing Governance and Citizen Engagement.†Speakers on the first day are Dean Angelides, director for international operations of ESRI, Undersecretary Peter N. Tiangco, Ph.D., administrator of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority, Mike Quin, international business development manager of ESRI, Guimaras Gov. Felipe Hilan A. Nava, Mauricio D. Franco, Jr., chief information officer of Manila Water Co., Inc. and Dr. Medel P. LimSuan GIS advisor from the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines. The second day will be devoted to industry focused sessions as well as technical sessions. Registration starts at 7 a.m. on Jan. 22 and the opening plenary session is at 9 a.m.
