Business

Depends on whose hands it’s in

- Francis J. Kong - The Philippine Star

This is vintage material, but many young people haven’t read this yet, so it’s worth repeating. I’ve featured this for the listeners of my radio program years ago when I received it from a friend. Now I’d like to share it with you, my readers.

First, let me ask you: if you have a business, how much is that business worth in your hands? If you’re in the retail business, perhaps your business in your hand is worth a couple of millions. But in the hands of certain business tycoons and taipans, that retail business could work a couple of billion… dollars!

If you have a fancy sports car, how much is that car worth in your hands? But if that car is in the hands of a Michael Schumacher, how much do you think that car would be worth?

I think by now you may have gotten the drift. So here’s the vintage material I was telling you about. A genius thought about this to give us a lot to think about.
“A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.

A basketball in Michael Jordan’s hands is worth about $33 million.

It depends whose hands it’s in.

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.

A baseball in Mark McGuire’s hands is worth $19 million.

It depends whose hands it’s in.

A tennis racket is useless in my hands.

A tennis racket in Venus Williams’ hands is a Wimbledon Championship.

It depends whose hands it’s in.

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.

A rod in Moses’ hands will part the mighty sea.

It depends whose hands it’s in.

A slingshot in my hands is a kid’s toy.

A slingshot in David’s hand is a mighty weapon.

It depends whose hands it’s in.

Two fish and five loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.

Two fish and five loaves of bread in God’s hands will feed thousands.

It depends Whose hands it’s in.

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.

Nails in Jesus Christ’s hands will produce salvation for the entire world.

It depends whose hands it’s in.”

Beautiful isn’t it?

The life I live for myself may be worth something, but not much. At the end of my journey in this decaying planet, it may end up as just another statistic on a piece of paper. But the life I live for Christ is worth a whole lot, as He offers me forgiveness to forgive others, grace for me to be gracious, and joy to enjoy this short journey.

Do not sell yourself cheap, and do not live cheaply. Every life is precious in God’s Hands.
