Singapore investors show interest in The Cheese Steak Shop

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - California-bred The Cheese Steak Shop, known for its original Philadelphia-style sandwiches, has received numerous inquiries from very interested businessmen from different countries when it exhibited at Singapore’s top franchising show, Franchising & Licensing Asia 2012 (FLAsia 2012) at the Marina Bay Sands last Nov. 1 to 3.

The Cheese Steak Shop Philippines president and CEO Margaret ‘Mai’ Uy, who owns the brand’s  master franchise for the Philippines and the right to expand the brand in Asia-Pacific, said their participation in the show has enabled them to touch base with possible partners that will expand the brand’s footprints in the region.

The Cheese Steak Shop currently has 31 branches in the USA and two in the Philippines. It opened its first Philippine branch in Makati last year with US Ambassador Harry Thomas and other prominent local and international guests presiding over the ceremonies.
