Lifestyle Asia wins Quill Awards again

MANILA, Philippines - Lifestyle Asia luxury issue and the anniversary edition Lifestyle Asia 25, The Best of Philippine Society were recently awarded by the International Association of Business Communicators at the recent 2012 Philippine Quill Awards.

IABC Philippines president and IABC regional director for North Asia Ritzi Villarico  Ronquillo said in the congratulatory letter that “ To win a Philippine Quill means being recognized as achieving the highest global standard for business communication practices. Winners of this award join a select group of professionals who set the standards of excellence.”

Editor in chief Anna Sobrepeña accepted the trophies together with executive creative director Suki Salvador, associate editor PJ Caña and ace lensman Arlu Gomez who shot a majority of the subjects featured in the commemorative issue.

“This is particularly special for us since we are celebrating our silver anniversary this year,” Sobrepeña says. “The first time we participated in 2009, we also received two awards for the cover story on Metrobank’s George Ty and his sons Arthur and Alfred, and for the cover photo of sisters Monique Lhuillier and Yvette Warnod shot on location in Paris.”  That was three years ago. A few months ago, It seemed an auspicious time to again field entries during the milestone year. The magazine had been evolving, bannered under a new masthead, additional sections, change of fonts and layouts. The reception had been positive and the Quill awards was a validation that the prestige publication of the One Mega Group was on track.

“The previous awards were for the individual efforts of a writer and a photographer,” Sobrepeña continues. “”These recent awards are for issues that the entire team worked on together. It is as much a tribute to them as it is a recognition of their competence and abilities.”

IABC is a global network which counts more than 14,000 business communication professionals in over 60 countries. The Philippines is the first IABC chapter outside North America.
