The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - About two dozen Malaysian companies took part in a specialized marketing mission on information and communication technology (ICT) organized recently by the Embassy of Malaysia Trade Office (Matrade). The event was meant to introduce the participating Malayasian companies and their products and services to the local industry as well as explore possible business ventures with local partners.

The mission served as a follow-up activity on the first ICT mission held in 2011.

Matrade Commissioner Harman Ahmad said the specialized marketing mission on ICT to the Philippines aims to explore areas for collaboration in the ICT sector, develop new business relationships between Malaysia and the Philippines and help Malaysian firms know more about the Philippine ICT industry.

Matrade Manila is fresh from successfully promoting Malaysian ICT products and services through an information booth at the 4th Annual International Outsourcing Summit last Oct. 8 to 9 at Makati Shangri-La.

The annual International Outsourcing Summit, which is viewed as the convergence of major ICT players in the Philippines, has provided the necessary platform for Malaysian ICT products to be recognized by the top industry players in the Philippines.

Matrade Manila continues to pursue on strengthening the business ties between the Philippines and Malaysia through its various organized activities and specialised marketing missions.
