MANILA, Philippines - Aboitiz-owned Union Bank of the Philippines has partnered with World Wide Fund-Philippines to raise funds for environment conservation through a credit card promo.
WWF-Philippines is a non-profit organization which has been working as a national organization of the WWF network since 1997. As the 26th national organization in the WWF network, WWF-Philippines successfully implemented various conservation projects to help protect the biological richness of some of the most biologically-significant ecosystems in Asia. WWF now operates in around 100 countries, supported by nearly five million people worldwide.
The so-called WWF-UnionBank Affinity Cards would come with four iconic species that embody the magnificence of our biodiversity such as Panda, Dolphin, Green Sea Turtle and Whale Shark.
“The Affinity Cards we share with UnionBank allow you to be part of the solution and share the WWF global network’s commitment to protect our living planet,” said WWF-Philippines vice president for marketing and corporate relations Reggie Olalia.
Those who will apply for a WWF-UnionBank Affinity Card can be directly part of WWF-Philippines’ conservation mission.
Olalia said this is because 0.5 percent of every retail spending will be donated to WWF-Philippines’ programs on environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, local species protection and climate change adaptation in 13 project sites nationwide.
UnionBank, for its part, has waived the annual membership fee for the first year. For the following year, half of the cardholder’s annual membership fee will go to WWF-Philippines.
For every enrolled auto-charge donation, a cardholder will get a free P300 Panda gift certificate, which entitles the bearer to P300 worth of merchandise from WWF-Philippines’ The Panda Shop.
Cardholders, Olalia said, would also get merchandise from The Panda Shop at 10 percent discount.
