Napocor seeks bidders for off-grid areas
MANILA, Philippines - State-owned National Power Corp. (Napocor) is bidding out about P50 million worth of contracts for its power facilities in the provinces.
In a public notice, Napocor said it is seeking bidders for the construction of power facilities in off-grid areas and the installation of transmission steel transmission towers.
Provinces that will benefit from the P47.6-million projects are Camarines Sur, Bohol and Occidental Mindoro.
Specifically, Napocor allotted P27.3 million for the supply and installation of 13-kilovolt (kV) steel towers and 69-kV steel poles for Taguilan, Colonia and San Agustin river crossings in Occidental Mindoro.
The contract includes the “furnishing all superintendence, labor, materials, tools and equipment to complete the dismantling and hauling of existing 69-kV wood pole transmission lines.”
Required minimum key personnel for the project is one project engineer who is a registered experienced civil engineer and one safety and health officer accredited by the Department of Labor and Employment, Napocor added.
Bid opening is scheduled on Nov. 15.
Meanwhile, Napocor also opened for auction the P20.3-million deal for the construction of power facilities in Palumbanes, Catanduanes and Buenavista, Bohol.
The winning bidders will supply, install and test the power facilities, which is part of the off-grid electrification projects of Napocor.
“Bidders should have completed, within 10 years from the date of submission and receipt of bids, a contract similar to the project,” Napocor said.
Pre-bid conference for the project is slated on Oct. 31, with the bid submission and opening set on Nov. 12.
Under the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) of 2001, Napocor will have to privatize its power plants.
