3 firms show interest in BCDA lots
MANILA, Philippines - Three firms have expressed interest to participate in the second bidding for the driving range lot and the Nichols property in Pasay City.
“Only three (firms) attended (the pre-bid conference) since this is already the second bidding,” Nena Radoc, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) vice president and chief finance officer said in a text message.
One of the firms, she added, also participated in the first tender conducted by the state-run corporation for the two properties.
The pre-bid conference was held last week.
The BCDA is holding another auction for the 5,005 square meter (sqm) driving range lot and the 5,389 sqm Nichols Loop with a combined value of P89.59 million after declaring a failure of bidding last month, with only one firm submitting a proposal to develop the two properties.
The properties have been designated for institutional use.
Firms that intend to take part in the second bidding can purchase bid documents until Oct. 15.
Bid documents are available at a cost of P50,000.
The deadline for the submission and opening of bids is on Oct. 17.
Radoc said earlier that if the bidding would be a success, the BCDA intends to sign the contract for the development of the property by December.
Earlier, the BCDA awarded the contract to develop the 3,099 sqm Eastgate parking facility and 1,224 sqm Sampaguita East Ramp lot to businessman Simon Paz.
The Eastgate parking facility is intended to be developed for institutional use, while the Sampaguita East Ramp lot is suitable for residential, commercial and institutional use.
