BPI raising ATM fees

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Cardholders of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) will have to withdraw money from the bank’s automated teller machines (ATM) or shoulder higher costs from using others starting Oct. 22.

This was after the bank, the third largest in terms of assets, announced yesterday that it would raise ATM withdrawal fees to P15 from the present P10 for those that will transact using Bancnet, Expressnet and Megalink tellers.

Use of BPI ATMs as well as point-of-sale terminals through Express Payment System “will remain free of charge,” the announcement stated.

The announcement was posted on the BPI website (www.bpi.com). No reason was given for the increase.
