- Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has declared a failed bidding for the tender of the Nichols property in Pasay City after only one firm submitted a proposal for the development of the property, an official said.

“It was a failed bidding. Only one submitted a proposal,” Dean Santiago, vice president for business development and operations at the BCDA, said in a text message yesterday.

He declined to name the firm that submitted the proposal to develop the property.

Earlier, he said, three firms expressed interest to develop the 5,005 square meter (sqm) driving range lot as well as the 5,389 sqm Nichols Loop valued at P89.59 million.

The Nichols property has been designated for development for institutional use.

Santiago said the BCDA would set a new date for the second auction of the property.

Apart from the Nichols property, the BCDA is also set to bid out the 3,099 sqm Eastgate parking facility in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City and the 1,224 sqm Sampaguita east ramp lot in Fort Bonifacio.

The Eastgate property which could be developed for institutional use is priced at P122.41 million.

The Sampaguita lot which could be developed as a residential, commercial and institutional area is valued at P28.76 million.

Santiago said earlier that five firms expressed interest to develop the Eastgate property, while 10 companies have shown willingness to develop the Sampaguita lot.

The BCDA is likewise planning to bid out in the 3rd quarter a 1,000 sqm property in BGC located beside the Everest Academy , but no date has been set for the auction yet.
