EastWest offers customized limits on ATM, debit cards

- Donnabelle L. Gatdula - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - EastWest, one of the fastest-growing banks in the country, has introduced another first in the banking industry with a unique value-added service to empower depositors to have more control over their funds and purchases.

The new service allows EastWest debit cardholders to customize their ATM withdrawal and point-of-sale (POS) purchase limits so they can manage their spending.

“We want to give our clients full control over their expenses,” EastWest EVP & head of retail banking and operations cluster Gerardo Susmerano said.

Susmerano said, “Through our continuing innovations in products and services, we help them spend in a disciplined way.”

“Our commitment is to continually make good things happen for them. This new service from EastWest is directed precisely towards that priority,” he added.

This exclusive EastWest service, Susmerano said, is free for all depositors with debit cards.

According to Susmerano, it is easy to apply for this exclusive and free service. “Just visit any one for the bank’s 150 branches, fill out an application form and instantly set limits of the EastWest debit card for both ATM withdrawals and POS purchases,” he said.

EastWest Bank started as commercial bank on August 1, 1994.

It is a subsidiary of the Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC), the publicly listed holding company of the Filinvest Group that evolved from a consumer business founded by Andrew L. Gotianun, Sr. in 1955.

FDC is one of the country’s premier conglomerates, with business interests in real estate, banking, sugar, hospitality and tourism, and power-generation.

Through the years, EastWest Bank has successfully capitalized on the financial strength and synergy from the business organizations under the Filinvest Group.
