MANILA, Philippines - Briggs & Stratton Company (B&S) of the United States, a world leader in power products and gasoline engine technology, has announced the appointment of Herco Trading Incorporated as its local marketing distributor.
The agreement gives B&S access to Herco’s strong market position and network of outlets throughout the country, Rob Spletter, B&S managing director for Southeast Asia, said in a statement.
Herco president Willy Co said his company’s track record in marketing well-known brands and its long history and reputation in the market are compatible with that of the Wisconsin-based company, which has a heritage of trust, service, dependability and solid reputation in the market. Both have been in the business for over 100 years.
“Briggs & Stratton and Herco are a natural fit due to the many similarities we share as far as core values of the companies, work ethics of our people and our customer-centric approaches to doing business are concerned,” Co said.
He said the two companies would make available in the market a wide range of B&S products and services as he assured the public not only of an ample supply of spare parts but technical support as well. He said they would work to establish qualified service centers for B&S products in major cities and train technicians for the job.
By tapping Herco’s long-standing reliability as distributor for wholesale and retail channels, Co explained, Briggs and Stratton would further boost its already substantial visibility in, and penetration of, the Philippine market. For its part, he said, Herco would increase the B&S brand awareness and presence by placing the products in all major stores in the Philippines.
“The two great names will dedicate themselves in creating consistent value for the Filipino customers and to maintaining Briggs & Stratton’s strong position in the market place,” Spletter said.
