PLDT starts data center in Subic

MANILA, Philippines - Telecommunications leader Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has started operations of its second Vitro data center located in Subic, a move that will benefit businesses based in Metro Manila and North Luzon in terms of providing continuity, data recovery, and secure data and information management.

Vitro Data Center Subic provides companies with full information management and telecommunication services essential in business such as collocation, server hosting, disaster recovery/ business continuity, data security, network management, and other IT services. These services minimize costs of businesses in running and managing their own data centers.

“PLDT Subic Vitro Data Center provides enterprises a very secure location to host all their data and information which is supported by unmatched ICT expertise,” PLDT EVP and Head of Enterprise and International and Carrier Business Eric Alberto said.

“Through PLDT’s advanced telecommunications infrastructure, the Vitro Data Center is able to provide end-to-end IT infrastructure solutions and multiple options for organizations bandwidth requirements more cost-effectively,” he added.

Housed in the PLDT SubicTel facilities, the Vitro Subic employs top of the line systems for power supply, security, cooling, fire protection and monitoring to ensure the operations of the data centers and the servers it houses managed together by an in-house team of IT experts.

PLDT also announced other Vitro Data Center facilities which are lined up to start operations in key cities across the country.

The first Vitro Data Center in Pasig has already received numerous citations and multiple ISO certifications from various organizations. It acts as a global gateway for all major BPOs, local telcos, leading international telcos, and major Internet Service Providers (ISP). It houses one of the country’s only high-speed local IP peering platform that facilitates seamless delivery of bandwidth-intensive contents to carriers and ISPs.
