Canadian firm to expand operations in Phl
MANILA, Philippines - The world’s largest privately-owned global distributor of electronic and electrical components is looking forward to expanding its distribution, marketing and technical training operations in the Philippines, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
The DFA said this was the outcome of a business call by Philippine Ambassador to Canada Leslie B. Gatan, on Future Electronics president Robert Miller last March 16 at Future Electronics’ headquarters in Montreal, Canada.
Miller welcomed assurances from the ambassador and conveyed that he was impressed by investment opportunities and considerable human resource pool presented by the Philippines.
Further details of the expansion will be worked out and is expected to be announced in the coming months.
Future Electronics is one of the largest privately owned companies in Canada, and is also currently the third largest electronics distributor in the world. It generates an estimated annual sales of over CAD$4.5 billion.
The company has operations in 169 locations in 42 countries in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. It currently operates a distribution facility in Muntinlupa, Metro Manila which connects to its regional hub based in Singapore.
