DTI to conduct seminar on doing business with UN
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is conducting a seminar at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City on Monday for exporters on the potential of doing business with the United Nations.
The seminar will be conducted by the DTI-Bureau of Export Trade Promotion (BETP) in cooperation with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in New York and United Nations Procurement Division (UNPD).
The bureau said the seminar aims to inform local companies on the business opportunities and the procurement activities of the UNPD such as values, policies, process and buying profile.
It underscored the potential of UN as a huge market for products such as food, clothing, furniture, office equipment and supplies, automotive and automotive parts. It is also a market for services such as IT and IT-enabled services; architecture, engineering and management consulting services.
Resource speakers from the UNPD include Toshio Mikami, chief logistics and transportation section and Ava Anterola, procurement assistant. The seminar will feature a UN Special Session with Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Philippine Exporters Confederation (PhilExport), and Bureau of Export Trade Promotion’s International Trade Resource Center.
After the seminar, there will be an online registration of companies with the UNPD.
