International property course opens in Manila

MANILA, Philippines -  The Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA) will host the offering of the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) course to be held from Feb. 20 to 24, 2012, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the AIM Conference Centre Manila, Philippines.

The CIPS course is licensed by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), the world’s largest trade association considered the “voice for global real estate” representing over 1.3 million members in the United States as well as in 60 countries across the globe. CREBA is the exclusive NAR Cooperating Association in the Philippines.

The intensive five-day CIPS curriculum provides real estate professionals unique hands-on experience in international real estate transactions, focus on critical aspects of global real estate business including currency and exchange rate issues, promotes cross-cultural relationships, provides an actual feel of regional market conditions and investment performances, and covers detailed presentations on country-specific tax issues in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

According to Charlie A. V. Gorayeb, CREBA national president, the CIPS is the only designation of its kind in the worldwide real estate community. It bespeaks of expertise and global perspective, backed by powerful brand recognition across 60 countries.

Julius G. Topacio, CREBA vice-president for global real estate alliances encourages International REALTOR Members from the Philippines to register early and enjoy substantial discounts that will be open only to the first 100 registrants.

Participants expect to learn about cultural communications, international business, customs, current events and market trends that impact the global real estate market.

The CIPS Network is made up of real estate professionals who focus on an international clientele through NAR’s alliances with 80 national and regional Cooperating Associations worldwide, including CREBA in the Philippines.

The course culminates with a graduation and reception event which will coincide with the visit of Steve Brown, NAR president-elect for 2014.
