UE Caloocan sets climate change lecture
MANILA, Philippines - The University of the East in Caloocan will present a lecture on environmental awareness, titled “Population, Environment and Climate Change: Are We Ready for Another Sendong?” which is set on Jan. 30, 9 a.m., at the UE Multipurpose Hall.
Dean of the UE College of Business Administration Dr. Rogelio V. Paglomutan, an economist and a former assistant secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and a former deputy national treasurer of the Philippines, will deliver the lecture.
A recognized organization of B.S. Accountancy students at UE Caloocan campus, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), co-organized this forum, spearheads the environmental awareness among the students and nearby communities in support of the government advocacy and action for clean and green environment, and rally behind for climate change adaptation and mitigation in order to reduce vulnerabilities.
The lecture aims at spreading information to stir up consciousness, given the realities of climate change that are causing natural calamities and disasters in the country and in the other places worldwide.
