MANILA, Philippines - Multimedia conglomerate ABS-CBN Corp. led the ratings battle among all TV networks in Metro Manila on the primetime block, or from 6 pm to 12 midnight, when viewing levels peak.

Data from Kantar Media show that ABS-CBN garnered an average individual TV rating of 35.8 percent from Oct. 1-19 compared with rival GMA Network Inc.’s 31.6 percent

At the same time, ABS-CBN continued its leadership among all AM radio stations with DZMM registering a 44.6 percent audience share in August 2011, 15 points higher than GMA’s DZBB’s 29.3 percent share, according to Nielsen Media Research data for Mega Manila.

On the FM band, ABS-CBN continues to beat GMA with Tambayan 101.9 logging an audience share of 22.1 percent compared with GMA’s Barangay LS with only 16 percent in August 2011.

Kantar Media has 22 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corp. They also include pan-regional networks likes CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International.
