Bigfish Int'l to go public in 2012

MANILA, Philippines - Bigfish International, the country’s premiere dance music event production company, and club brand, will launch its initial public offering in 2012.

The IPO is a strategic move designed to support Bigfish International’s expansion plans in the next 24 months, which includes mounting massive dance music festivals, establishing its own TV station, publishing an events magazine, producing more mobile content projects, and a slew of as yet undisclosed business plans.

“Bigfish has proven itself through the years as the strongest contender in the country in terms of dance music dissemination and production, and we are determined to keep up our stellar reputation and performance,” says Bigfish vice president for Business Development Moumen Daker. “We are confident that opening the company to the public will help us achieve our expansion plans and allow us to deliver world-class concepts in clubbing, entertainment, and lifestyle to our growing market.”

Bigfish International aims to stage festival-type setups featuring different international artists for all its succeeding events, a formula it has perfected with Bigfish Innovation White 2011 on June 25 at the World Trade Center, which featured Chicane, Kyau and Albert, Ronski Speed, John Paul Lee, and Emma Hewitt. And Bigfish Innovation Black that featured Godskitchen Neon on Aug. 27, also at the World Trade Center.

Bigfish International’s newly adopted formula bodes well for clients and sponsors looking to launch a product or create a promotion geared towards young professionals, students, and other moneyed urban individuals at their events. Besides providing clients the occasion to interact with their target demographic on the ground, Bigfish International promises exposure on TV, radio, print, and online media, as well as the opportunity to make a lasting impression on their market.

“Our clients will see that Bigfish is much more than just an events company that holds parties. By putting our clients in a venue where their target market is having fun, not only do we bring them closer to their core audience, but we also encourage wide reaching associations to today’s tech savvy youth, enjoyment, and the hip urban lifestyle for their brands,” Daker explains.

Bigfish International is working on putting up its own TV station featuring round-the-clock airplay of dance music videos and footage from parties in the Philippines and around the world. Presently, Bigfish International operates Bigfish TV, an hour-long dance music program that airs on Star World every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6pm, with replays every Friday and Saturday from 12:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Plans are also underway to produce an events magazine that compiles photos taken at Bigfish events. This new publication will feature other events in Metro Manila, as well as DJ profiles and news on dance parties around the world. The magazine will be available for free at clubs, bars, hotels, and cafes.

As an independent mobile content provider, Bigfish International has just invested more than 10M pesos on music content only & already negotiated deals with telecom giants Smart and Globe, which will see the company developing applications and other music content for use in mobile devices.

Daker says that Bigfish International will roll out more exciting projects as soon as it files its IPO.

Launched in 1999, Bigfish International is the leading dance music event production outfit and club brand in the Philippines, with widely-attended events that boast appearances by major international DJs. Besides Bigfish TV, Bigfish International also operates Bigfish Radio, the most successful dance radio program in the metro today, and Activ8 Records, a record label that distributes, markets, and accredits foreign electronic music releases in the country. Passion is what drives us every single day to move forward, to achieve more and to deliver a world -class production & entertainment to the Philippines market, and when you combine passion with creativity and new ideas you will be able to produce a unique business formula “Daker” adds.
