TNT Express enhances e-services with mobile tracking application
MANILA, Philippines - TNT Express, one of the world’s largest express integrators, has enhanced its electronic services with a new mobile tracking application that allows customers around the world, including the Philippines, to conveniently and instantly track their shipments even when they are on the go.
The latest value-added eServices from TNT Express were rolled out recently, with the company introducing its ExpressMobile tracking app for iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile users. The mobile app, downloadable for free through http://expressmobile.tnt.com/EN-GB/home.aspx, enables customers to get real-time updates on the progress of their shipment.
“After downloading and installing the app, customers can track their shipments by keying in the consignment or reference number of their shipment. It shows them complete historical status of their shipment, from pick up to delivery,” said Bill Roque, CIT manager of TNT Philippines.
The ExpressMobile tracking app is targeted at the changing needs of the market – customers who are always on the go and rely on technology to manage and run their businesses. At present, over 70 percent of the country’s population uses mobile phones, with about 20 percent using the Internet-capable smartphones.
“We believe the market is already mature for this kind of service. In fact, our customers especially in the hi-tech industry are eager to use this service”, said John Queng, country sales and marketing director of TNT Express Philippines.
The express company continues to develop its mobile services to enable their customers to manage all their shipment needs online, anytime and anywhere. Future releases of the app will support additional functionality such as price quotations, the option to arrange and rearrange deliveries, bookings and location finder. A version for Blackberry is also due for release soon.
TNT also offers other web and PC-based solutions to help customers manage their shipments.
myTNT is a highly-dynamic, user-friendly web-based solution that enables customers to book shipments, arrange collections, generate shipping documents such as commercial invoices, and check prices and transit times, among others. For customers with an online ordering system, TNT also offers ExpressConnect, an XML-based software that integrates the power of TNT’s distribution network into the customer’s own intranet or extranet.
