House of Investments names new president

MANILA, Philippines - House of Investments (HI), the investment holding and management company of the Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC), announced the appointment of Medel T. Nera as its new president and CEO.

As head of HI, Nera is tasked to oversee and expand the company’s business portfolio that includes the YGC’s interests in construction, car dealerships, education and information technology, memorial services, pharmaceuticals, property and project management, and financing. 

Prior to his appointment, Medel was a senior partner, market leader and financial services practice head of SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. CPAs, (SGV). He served in various other leadership positions in SGV, namely: head of consulting and advisory division, head of one of the Firm’s audit groups, and head of market circles handling conglomerates and companies in various industries, such as manufacturing, trading, construction, and educational institutions.

A certified public accountant since 1977, Medel graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree. He took up a course in International Management Program at the Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom, and obtained his Masters degree in Business Administration at the Stern School of Business in New York University.
