Forum on new trends in PR

-

MANILA, Philippines - A forum on “The Latest Trends in Public Relations & Communications” will be conducted by CommBiz, Inc. on July 21 & 22 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ortigas Ave. corner ADB Ave., Pasig City. Interested parties may call tel. 746-1468 and 475-9996; 0917-3886457; email: [email protected]. Ber Pacheco, president of CommBiz, Inc., said the forum is a venue for public relations and marketing people to learn new approaches in dealing with crisis situations and know the essentiality of social media in making PR and marketing programs more efficient and competitive. Pacheco said there was a time when all a business firm or a government agency had to do was assign a messenger to deliver press releases, spend a lot of money for crative advertisers to put in some good words in print or on the air and do liaison work with the media. But times have changed a lot. And as times change, so will the terms of relationship between the corporation and the public, and also wuth government and the citizenry. The customers or clients, have also changed – more intelligent, more demanding and discriminating in choosing their needs and wants. Likewise, the media have rediscovered itself and press freedom and are enjoying it to the hilt. Invited to share their expertise are: Carlos Agatep, president, C. Agatep & Associates & Euro RSCG Manila (Handling Crisis Situations Effectively); Paul John Pena, head, digital marketing, Leo Burnett Manila (Integrating PR and Marketing Strategies and Tactics With Social Media); Amado Malacaman Jr., president, Assyst, Inc. (Building Corporate Image And Influence In The Market Place); Janette Toral, president, Digital Filipino (Expanding The Reach Of Your Press Releases Through Social Networking Media); Roman Floresca, assistant Business Editor, The Philippine STAR (New Approaches To Strengthen Relationship With Media People); and Jake Maderazo, radio commentator, Radio Mindanao Network and former managing director, ANC News, ABS-CBN (How The Internet Is Changing The Face Of News Reporting Globally).
