TeleTech opens 13th BPO site in Phl

MANILA, Philippines - As a sign of growing confidence in the country’s economy, business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions provider TeleTech Holdings Inc. announced yesterday the opening of its latest site, its 13th location at the Robinsons Corporate Center, Pioneer St. in Mandaluyong City.

TeleTech’s vice-president Tim Hinds told reporters at a briefing that the move “is a tactical step to further improve the global support of the Philippines in providing TeleTech services worldwide. TeleTech as a company is growing and growing fast.”

TeleTech will also soon open its 14th site at the Ayala Techno Hub in Quezon City. Hinds said the company has invested a total of $10 million for its two new locations.

“We are growing rapidly over the years since we started in 2004 here. The Philippine economy has been very dynamic and we are extremely bullish in the market. We feel good about growth strategies here. We feel that Teletech’s growth can be sustained in three to five years,” Hinds said.

The Mandaluyong site will employ over 1,200 agents by the end of the year.

Hinds said they are very excited about the Mandaluyong site which will house a recruitment and training centers under one roof, adding this is a first of its kind in the Philippines.

“Our Mandaluyong site is a tactical step to further improve the global support of the Philippines in providing Teletech services worldwide. The site is very strategic for our future growth. We know that there’s an estimated 400,000 to 500,000 people in the are based on records of the Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE). This is a standout facility, it’s a good investment,” Hinds added.

The new site operations in Mandaluyong will occupy three floors in Cybergate Tower 3.

TeleTech’s Pioneer site is already in operations. The new site will provide both general and technical customer support services to TeleTech clients via traditional voice calls, e-mail, and web chat as well as back office application and document processing.

Hinds also said Teletech’s labor pool is more than enough to support our growth. TeleTech currently employs more than 21,000 workers.

“The Philippines has the largest base of employee’s for TeleTech and provides tremendous value and performance for our clients. We have invested heavily in the Philippines over the last 10 years and continue to see this as a strategic market to support our growth over the next few years,” Hinds said.

Currently, the company has 12 locations across the Philippines and serves around 100 clients with approximately 48,000 employees in 17 countries.
