MANILA, Philippines - Prestone has expanded its campaign and advocacy to instill the habit of flushing and filling old brake fluid among motorists to include villages and subdivisions in Metro Manila. Prestone extended its “Flush and Fill” campaign in Marcelo Green Village by conducting free brake fluid testing for residents during the Parañaque City barangay’s recent 33rd foundation day. The neighborhood test gave car owners an alternative from going to car service shops to have their brake fluid’s boiling point measured right at their community. “This is a pioneering effort to reach the neighborhood. We want to bring the campaign closer to car owners and make it convenient for them to have their cars tested,” said Marites Dagdag, president of Clorox International Philippines Inc. (CIPI), manufacturer of Prestone brake fluid. The “Flush and Fill” campaign started more than a year ago with the free brake fluid check conducted in car service shop partners, malls and car shows nationwide. “It’s not just a one-time activity. It’s an advocacy to educate people on the need to really have their brake fluids tested for cars at least two years old or older every year so they can be assured that their brakes will work whenever it is needed,” says Dagdag. “We won’t stop until people really become aware of the need to flush and fill.”
