Metallic mineral output projected at P137.6 billion this year
MANILA, Philippines - Metallic mineral production for this year is projected to reach P137.584 billion, according to data from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).
MGB Director Leo Jasareno said this, is 39 percent higher than the metallic mineral production last year.
Production of gold is projected to reach 44,197 kilograms with a value of P77.041 billion, while silver production is expected to reach 46,904 kgs with a value of P1.4 billion.
Production of base metals, such as copper concentrate is projected at 73,603 metric tons with a value of P19.415 billion.
Nickel concentrate production is targeted at 23,000 MT with a value of P15.262 billion, while production of direct shipping ore of nickel is projected at 20,447,144 dry metric tons (DMT) with a value of P23.299 billion.
Production of metallurgical chromite is projected at 16,288 DMT with a value of P128.849 million, and zinc production is targeted at 29,015 DMT with a value of P1.035 billion.
