MANILA, Philippines - PLDT SME Nation said it is renewing its partnership with GoNegosyo in its advocacy to develop small and medium enterprises (SME) towards building the nation’s economy.
PLDT SME Nation vice president and head Kat Luna-Abelarde made the announcement following the ceremonial merging of logos led by PLDT senior vice president and CSMG head Eric Alberto, GoNegosyo founder Joey Concepcion and GoNegosyo executive director Mon Lopez.
“We’re looking forward to a fruitful year and more projects with GoNegosyo. Our long-running partnership with GoNegosyo is strong and assures SMEs that we would always be ready to help them build their business and succeed,” Abelarde said.
PLDT SME Nation and GoNegosyo have become trusted names when it comes to providing solutions to challenges faced by SMEs.
“GoNegosyo specializes in providing knowledge and creative ideas to aspiring and established Filipino entrepreneurs – whether it’s about starting a business or running an existing business properly and successfully. PLDT SME Nation provides the business solutions that entrepreneurs need to gain competitive edge,” Abelarde noted.
One of the projects lined up for this year is GoNegosyo’s NegoSem, a nationwide seminar to teach skills and knowledge for entrepreneurs. Other activities include the GoNegosyo Youth Summit and Women’s Summit.
The partnership is also behind the popular ‘Bossing Ako’ campaign, featuring a roster of entrepreneurs chosen to be inspirations in business.
With SMEs generating as much as 98 percent of the country’s income, the SME sector is the backbone of the economy. From manufacturing to retail to agriculture, SMEs across various industries provide livelihood for majority of Filipinos and are a testament to their ingenuity.
“For an advocacy like GoNegosyo, partnerships with corporations go a long, long way. Inspiring hundreds of thousands of Filipinos all throughout the country would not have been possible without the sustained support of our partners. They are the heroes who share our dream of empowering Filipinos and of building an entrepreneurial nation,” Concepcion said.
