Globe offers more affordable rates for Internet users

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom is taking advantage of the growing demand for mobile broadband services by offering more affordable rates for its internet services.

Since Jan. 15, Globe has made available the Super Surf for only P999 for 30 days - P200 off its original price of P1,200. Globe Super Surf allows users to chat, email and surf all they want, anytime, anywhere using their mobile phones.

”With Globe Super Surf, our subscribers can surf the Internet all they want without the fear of surprise charges. And with this more affordable price, we are actively addressing consumer demand for more affordable data services,” Globe broadband, VAS and mobile data services head Manny Escosa said.

He added that with the new and cheaper rates of Globe Super Surf, Internet fanatics can save more money compared to the previous per kilobyte (KB) and time browsing rate schemes.

Globe earlier revealed that Internet usage has significantly increased during the holiday season, which peaked by an average of 200 percent. The increase was attributed to the growing popularity of social networking sites which became channels for subscribers to send in their holiday greetings.

Globe Super Surf is available both on regular and BlackBerry offers. Prepaid subscribers can register to Globe Super Surf by texting Supersurf50 (P50 for one day) and Supersurf220 (P220 for five days) to 8888. Postpaid subscribers can register by texting Supersurf On 50 (P50 for one day), Supersurf On 220 (P220 for five days) and Supersurf On (P999 for 30 days) to 8888.

For BlackBerry postpaid and prepaid subscribers, they can register by texting BB ON 50 (P50 for one day), BB ON 220 (P220 for five days) and BB ON (P999 for 30 days) to 8888.
