Century Properties starts pre-selling of new project

MANILA, Philippines - Century Properties Inc., a leading real estate development firm, started yesterday the pre-selling of units at its proposed $100-million world-class outpatient medical/information technology center along Kalayaan Ave. in Makati City.

On the sidelines of the facility’s groundbreaking ceremony yesterday, Century Properties chief executive officer and chairman Jose E.B. Antonio said they expect to sell more than 500 clinic spaces at Centuria Medical Makati within a year from launch.

The project is a joint venture with GE Healthcare, a $17-billion unit of US industrial giant General Electric Co., which provides transformational medical technologies and services shaping a new age of patient care.

Centuria has three floor types: silver with unit sizes ranging from 27 to 75 square meters; gold (32 sqm to 113 sqm); and Platinum (32 to 187sqm). A 28 sqm-unit costs P3.4 million.

Antonio said prospective tenants can buy a whole floor (which occupies a total of 850 sqm) and divide it among themselves.

He said four floors, or a total of 5,000 sqm., had been set aside for IT use in relation to medicine technology.

Antonio said GE would provide state -of-the -art equipment and assist Century Properties by providing value-added services such as training and development.

With expertise in medical imaging and information technologies, medical diagnostics, patient monitoring systems, performance improvement, drug discovery and biopharmaceutical manufacturing technologies, GE helps clinicians around the world re-imagine new ways to predict, diagnose, inform, treat and monitor disease, so that patients can live their lives to the fullest.

The 28-story Centuria Medical Makati will comprise doctors clinics; floors devoted to diagnostic equipment and services; rooms for aesthetic procedures; recovery suites; cafes and restaurants; a VIP lift, and units for other service providers in health, wellness and preventive medicine.

“It is a privilege to work with GE Healthcare for this project, and to get the support of our local government, the DOH, the DTI and the DOT, in the interest of promoting the Philippines as a top medical tourism destination with globally competitive standards for outpatient medical services. With the right venue, the right technology and systems, doctors may now put up clinics and provide the best care possible for patients the world over,” said Antonio.

Antonio said Centuria Medical Makati is targeted to be operational in the latter part of 2013 or early 2014 and is envisioned to provide a platform where the Philippines can compete with neighbors Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and India.
