MANILA, Philippines - Accenture formally opened its second facility in Cebu City and has expanded the range of information technology (IT) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services it provides to clients from its delivery centers in the city.
The company now counts more than 20,000 people in 13 sites in Metro Manila and Cebu. It expects its total headcount to reach approximately 25,000 by August 2011, with Cebu more than doubling its current employee size.
“Our facilities in Cebu are integral to our global delivery capabilities and the overall growth of Accenture Philippines,” said George Son Keng Po, Accenture technology delivery lead for the Philippines. “The addition of Robinson’s Cybergate Cebu and expanded IT and BPO services from our Cebu facilities strengthen our capability to address the demands of our clients around the world.”
Accenture’s two locations in Cebu currently employ more than 500 people. The company opened the Pioneer House facility in 2007, with its professionals providing mainly systems integration and application outsourcing services to global clients. Accenture Cebu expanded in 2008 by offering voice BPO services.
With the added facility, Accenture Cebu now provides application development and management, including testing, plus infrastructure and security services. In addition, non-voice services are being added to Cebu’s roster of BPO offerings, such as finance and accounting BPO and custom BPO services designed to address the unique needs of client organizations.

Last month, Accenture Philippines culminated its 25th anniversary celebration with Vice President Jejomar C. Binay representing President Benigno C. Aquino III and Accenture chairman and chief executive officer William D. Green inaugurating its McKinley Hill facility and symbolically inaugurating Robinson’s Cybergate Cebu and the Eastwood site in Quezon City.
