Morphlabs named among Red Herring Asia Top 100 tech companies

-

MANHATTAN, California — Morphlabs, a leading provider of private and public cloud infrastructure announced today that it has been selected among Red Herring’s Top 100 Asia Awardees.

Last month, Red Herring Asia released its finalists, with Morphlabs among the 200 companies short-listed and evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.

In an event to honor the 2010 Red Herring Asia Finalists held in Shanghai, China on Nov. 16, the Red Herring editorial team announced the final Top 100 Asian Tech Companies. Morphlabs remained as the only Filipino company among the top 100.

“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across Asia to the Top 100 winners. We believe Morphlabs embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. Morphlabs should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

“It is with honor to represent the Philippines among the top 100 Asian tech companies,” said Winston Damarillo, CEO of Morphlabs. “Both our mCloud Controller and mCloud On-Demand have been well accepted in the Cloud computing industry. These products are the result of seamless collaboration between our US-based R&D and our Philippine-based engineering team, proving that impactful innovation can be created around the world.”

Morphlabs’ global footprint started with innovation offices consisting of engineering and product development in Manila and Cebu. Product research and marketing are ran from its California office. Last year it opened another Asian operations office in Tokyo, Japan. The company is also the third Red Herring awardee under the helm of Winston Damarillo. Previously, Exist Global won it in 2006, Simula Labs in 2007 and now Morphlabs in 2010.

Red Herring’s Top 100 Asia list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
