Tabletop grandfather clocks by Adriano
MANILA, Philippines - For close to 100 years, the name Adriano has meant world-class Filipino craftsmanship in classic grandfather clocks.
Began in 1911 by master artisan Simplicio Adriano of Pampanga, the family’s expertise in handcrafted period pieces was handed down through four generations – to Simplicio’s son Avelino, the dean of Filipino furniture makers in the 1950s; to grandson Ricardo, Manila’s foremost grandfather-clock craftsman of the 1970s; and today, to great-grandsons Alfred and Francis Adriano, the entrepreneurs running the successful local and export business.
Now, owning an authentic Adriano is within reach with tabletop replicas of the famous grandfather clocks. Each piece has a beautifully handcrafted cabinet made of Philippine hardwood, hand-rubbed for a lasting finish.
The timepiece features a solid-brass weight décor, swinging pendulum, and full quarterly and hourly strikes with Westminster chime. The best-selling Model AGA 60 (photo) makes an ideal gift for Christmas, particularly for corporate clients.
