Hagedorn welcomes ACPAPP to Palawan
MANILA, Philippines – Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn will deliver the inspirational message to welcome ACPAPP members at their 10th Annual National Convention on Sept. 23-25, 2010 at A&A Plaza Hotel.
This is the first time ACPAPP is holding its convention in Puerto Princesa City. Hagedorn will present a symbolic key to the city to ACPAPP president Fely Abad and convention chair lawyer Eranio L. Punsalan. He will also host the dinner on the first night of the event with a cultural show by the Pangkat Kalinangan, the premier cultural group and pride of Palawan Tourism.
This year’s convention theme: “Auditor-Client Relationship: A Partnership for Responsive Public Practice” accentuates the importance of bridging gaps in said relationship.
Past ACPAPP president Gregorio S. Navarro will deliver the keynote address. Navarro is presently president of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX).
Other valuable inputs will be shared by SEC general accountant Ma. Gracia F. Casals-Diaz; BIR OIC-chief Grace Evelyn A. Lacerna of the Audit Information, Tax Exemption and Incentives Division; Quality Assurance Review Program chair Elenita B. Cabrera, Board of Accountancy; and Auditing and Assurance Standards Council chair Judith V. Lopez. Managing consultant of Six Sigma Consulting Franco G. Del Rosario will also share ideas on the topic “Going from Good to Great” based on the book “Good to Great” by Jim Collins
The 10th ANC program will earn 10.25 CPE units to CPAs who will attend the convention. ACPAPP, the association of CPAs in public practice, is the professional accounting organization of auditing practitioners in the country that is composed of 277 accounting firms (institutional members) represented by 636 individual members nationwide.
Today it has chapters in Laguna, Batangas, Central Luzon, Cebu, Bicol and Cagayan de Oro.
ACPAPP is focused on the professional development of auditors. It has developed and continues to update its Business Assurance Seminar Program composed of four modules, delivering new knowledge and skills from entry level auditors to senior audit managers.
Aside from auditing, ACPAPP also has training programs on regulatory matters (SEC, BIR and other regulatory bodies), accounting and other skills relevant to the public practice profession.
