Ex-STAR editor Grey writes '30'

MANILA, Philippines - Business columnist Margie Jao-Grey died Wednesday morning after a lingering illness. She was 57.

She is survived by her children, Derek, Bianca, Edmund and Raine and her siblings Andrew Jao, Melanie and Alan.

Grey had a long stint with BusinessWorld and then transferred to The Philippine STAR to write a weekly column titled ‘Not Business As Usual’ which she continued when she transferred to Business Mirror, until her death. She was also STAR assistant business editor and editor of its Business sub-section Business As Usual.

She co-hosted with Mel Dayao a radio program over dWBR or the business radio of Radyo ng Bayan and left five years later. She resumed her radio hosting at dZAR of Sonshine Radio, where she co-hosted once a week with Delfin Perez, former assistant business editor of the Manila Bulletin, a program called Business Agenda.

Grey also joined the Office of the Press Secretary in 2009 and stayed on until the assumption of the new administration. She opted to leave the OPS for health reasons.

The family is requesting friends and associates to join the viewing of her ashes on Friday (Aug.20) and Saturday (Aug. 21).
