MANILA, Philippines - Information technology company Dell has reorganized its Philippine representative offices with the appointment of two country managers: Ricky Benipayo Lopez for, large enterprise and public sector (LE/Pub) and Christopher Papa for small and medium business (SMB).
Lopez and Papa will be responsible for growing Dell’s commercial business across the region, working closely with the channel community to deliver simple, flexible, high-value solutions to large enterprise and public sector customers and SMB clients, respectively.
The announcement marks the company’s transition from a single commercial business unit to two divisions designed to provide even better focus and attention to Dell’s growing customer base.
In December 2008, Dell announced its plans reorganize the company globally around three major customer segments – large enterprise, public sector and small and medium business. Dell’s consumer business is already organized globally.
Dell said it believes the four groups best capitalize on the company’s competitive advantages, while strengthening execution and synergies. The first Dell territories to undergo this organizational restructuring were the United States, China, India, Japan and Australia.
In Dell’s South Asia territory, the Philippines is the first to undergo the reorganization. Under the leadership of Lopez, the large enterprise and public sector markets are combined to form one division, while Papa is in charge of managing the mid-tier and start-up industries.
Varinderjit Singh, managing director, South Asia developing markets (SADMG), noted the high level of trust in the readiness of both country managers in their new roles and the proper timing to implement the restructuring in the Philippine representative office.
“On a global scale, Dell is singularly focused on driving efficiencies in enterprises by offering open, capable and affordable solution to its customers. The extensive background, acquired by Lopez and Papa during their time as team leaders will continue to drive Dell’s customer experience based on these principles,” he said.
Singh explained that after careful monitoring and observation, the Philippines, being the largest among the South Asia territories, offers itself as an appropriate market to adapt this new company organization. “Dell recognizes the signs of continued market maturity in the adoption of efficient, reliable and highly scalable IT solutions to meet, achieve and comply with customer demands and global standards,” he added.
