MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Land Inc. recently broke ground for its first business process outsourcing (BPO) campus in Iloilo. The Iloilo-Ayala Land TechnoHub at Riverside Boardwalk, Mandurriao in Iloilo City, aims to be a fully-integrated information technology (IT) and IT-enabled services community designed for 24x7 operations.
The campus will consist of two BPO facilities with a total gross leasable area (GLA) of 19,000 square meters, supported by a retail component on the ground floor of each office building, all within a two hectare property.
“Iloilo is one of the major growth centers Ayala Land would like to have a strong presence in,” Ayala Land president and CEO Antonino T. Aquino said. “The Iloilo-AyalaLand TechnoHub is the start of this initiative. We are encouraged by the support of Iloilo’s government units and our partner, the Pison family, in facilitating the early start of this project.”
The project brings the success of the company’s existing environment-friendly developments such as the UP-AyalaLand TechnoHub in Quezon City and One Evotech in NUVALI, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, to the Iloilo community.
Initial phase of the project will involve the construction of the first four-storey building with approximately 9,500 square meters of GLA. It is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011.
The project will generate more than 10,000 jobs for the local community from the BPO offices, retail establishments and support maintenance services.
Iloilo ranked fourth in the 2010 List of Top Ten Next Wave Cities compiled by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) because of its attractive support infrastructures and favorable business environment. It also has an abundant supply of qualified and trainable graduates per year.
