Philam Life announces key appointments
MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine American Life and General Insurance Co. (Philam Life) recently announced the appointments of Philip Michael Hayman as chief distribution officer retail, Gerard M. Cariaso as senior vice president and head of human resources, and Carmelita C. Daduya as vice president for internal audit.
Hayman joins Philam Life providing overall executive supervision to both the agency and alternative distribution channels. He brings with him over 26 years of sales and marketing experience in the insurance industry, having led and successfully managed operations in the United Kingdom, India, South Asia and China.
Cariaso as head of HR, is expected to play a key role in driving a performance-based culture, strengthening the talent pipeline and building an engaged employee force in the organization.
He has over 28 years of experience in human resources management, having served as director for HR in renowned real estate, food, and consultancy companies and later on as regional HR head overseeing operations in the Philippines as well as Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. He earned his AB degree in De La Salle University and his Masters in Industrial Relations, majoring in Human Resources Management from the University of the Philippines.
Daduya has over 18 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning and implementation, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, business continuity planning, compliance, and internal and external audit, and has worked in several industries ranging from telecommunications to banking and finance. She obtained her BS in Commerce from the University of Santo Tomas, and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
The three appointees join Philam Life as it continues its solid, nimble and pro-active leadership in the Philippine insurance industry.
