TNT to ramp up service logistics solutions in Asia

-

MANILA, Philippines - TNT, one of the world’s leading express integrators, announced that it will be expanding its suite of service logistics solutions throughout this year aimed at the hi-tech sector, specifically the consumer electronics, computing and telecommunications industry.

TNT also named service logistics specialist Oliver Lemanski to spearhead its aggressive expansion strategy in the service logistics market that is valued at 2.3 billion euro in Asia Pacific and around 410 million euro in Southeast Asia alone.

Karel van de Pijpekamp, sales and marketing director of TNT Southeast Asia and India, said “While the service logistics market in the region is growing rapidly, it is fragmented with multiple local logistics and repair providers acting independently. With our new suite of service logistics products we are aiming to provide customers a holistic solution that can seamlessly integrate with their existing repair partners and systems. The enhanced Storapart service solutions we announced in September last year, was just the first of many service logistics solutions to come. I am confident that Oliver’s expert insight and foresight will take TNT’s service logistics business to the next level.”

TNT has been investing heavily in its air and road networks, systems and knowledge, which have translated into greater capabilities in the service logistics area. In 2009 alone, millions of dollars were invested in enhancing its facilities and infrastructures across the region, extending its Asia Road Network and boosting its air services. In addition, TNT was the first express integrator to receive the ISO28000 certification in recognition of its high security standards – a key priority especially for hi-tech customers that need to transport critical high value goods and spare parts from one point to another.

Oliver Lemanski, newly appointed regional manager for service logistics in Southeast Asia and India said, “Repair turnaround times, inventory control, security, network reach and real-time data visibility are key priorities for our customers when identifying a logistics provider. TNT ticks all these boxes. TNT can provide cost-efficient integrated solutions customized to manage all aspects of post-sales product support, from front end goods pick up and consolidation right through to intelligent swapping initiatives and spare part management. The enhanced service network performance achieved through TNT’s pro-active approach of integrating multiple functions allows our customers to differentiate themselves from their competitors.”

Oliver has almost 10 years experience in the service logistics industry. Prior to his appointment at TNT he ran the Asia-Pacific division of a boutique management consultancy firm focused on strategic development and implementation of service logistics solutions. He has worked with many high technology manufacturers, repair vendors and logistics providers across Asia and Europe, designing cutting edge business solutions tailored to individual customer needs. Through this experience, coupled with his activities as a published author, guest speaker, and committee member for many industry specific forums, Oliver has become a well known name within the service logistics industry.

As part of TNT’s focus on the service logistics sector, it is also the lead partner for the launch of a service logistics R&D hub in Singapore established by Singapore Management University.
