MANILA, Philippines - Spanish yoghurt manufacturer Leche Pascual said it would like to invest 6 million euro for a manufacturing facility in the country.
Trade Secretary Jesli A. Lapus said that Leche Pascual is looking for a local firm in order to form a joint venture project. “They are currently considering San Miguel and Alaska,” he said.
Lapus said they will meet with company officials during his Madrid trip in April 15 with President Arroyo.
Leche Pascual has recently embarked on a new international expansion strategy which has identified three target regions for the global market expansion. The countries are South Africa for Africa, Venezuela for South America and the Philippines for Southeast Asia.
The company said they are confident that they will be able to develop the market in the Philippines for yoghurt products. Aside from the significant employment generation, the company is also confident that it can improve the nutritional level of the population.
