Two Filipino entrepreneurs invited to Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in DC
MANILA, Philippines - Two outstanding Filipino entrepreneurs are among the participants invited to the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in Washington, D.C. next month, the US Embassy in Manila announced yesterday.
Jose Concepcion III, president of RFM Corp. and presidential adviser on enterpreneurship, and Bai Sandra Bassar of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Business council board are among the participants from over 40 countries in five continents attending the summit, the US Embassy said.
US President Barack Obama, together with the Department of State and the Department of Commerce, will host the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship at the Ronald Reagan Building on April 26 and 27, 2010.
Concepcion is a well-known businessman, entrepreneurship consultant, and co-founder of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. whose “Go Negosyo” movement instills optimism and business spirit among Filipino businesspeople and entrepreneurs.
Bai Sandra Basar is a member of the board of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Business Council and a member of the Mindanao Regional Development Council (Region XII).
As President Obama announced in his June 4, 2009 speech in Cairo, the Summit on Entrepreneurship will identify how each nation can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world.
The summit will highlight the role entrepreneurship can play in addressing common challenges while building partnerships that will lead to greater opportunity abroad and at home.
